Bolings on the Road Part 2 - Cajun Country

So the whirlwind that is the month of July really began in June, when Mom, Gus and I packed up the car the day after Gus's baptism and headed south (well further south) to Louisiana to visit my family. Gus was an amazing traveler, we split the trip into two days on the way down and after just getting over hand foot and mouth disease (nightmare daycare virus) he picked up a cold somewhere in Alabama - I blame Auburn myself, but other then that he did remarkably well.

We spent a little over a week with my sweet grandmother who turned 91 while we were there - Gus did wonders to lift her spirits, I only wish I could bottle his baby energy up and send it to her daily.

Sugar from Grammy - who taught me pat-a-cake on this trip - thanks Grammy!

Happy 4th of July!

Uncle Jerry (who needs to teach Gus how to fish!)

All children under the age of 4 - only 1 belongs to me!

Though I do miss the income (especially in these post-lost election days) I wouldn't trade having this summer free to travel and visit family for any job or any amount of money - it has been a great blessing to be able to spend quality time with parents, grandparents, and many other extended family.

We head to Edisto on Saturday for a week at the beach with our dear friends the Garners, and then its off to Sunset Beach for a week with BJ's family, then home for a week before I pack the little man up for the northeast leg of his friends and family tour with another plane ride to PA and a drive to NH. I will have many pictures and stories to share in the coming weeks.
