A day at the zoo with our little monkey

So only in South Carolina can it go from snowing on one Saturday to 64 and sunny the next, and in February mind you! So just as we took advantage of the snow last Saturday, this weekend we packed up the stroller, the diaper bag, and the camera and made our first family trek to the Riverbanks Zoo.

We saw the elephants (which didn't make the picture)...

We saw the giraffes (which didn't make the picture)...

We saw the fish (which are sort of in the picture) and mesmerized Gus because of all the lights and movement - much better then the Fisher Price aquarium in his crib!

We did really did see animals, we even saw both gorillas, which never happens.

After the trek back up the hill to the garden side of the zoo we were pretty tired...

So we ended the day with a relaxing dinner and night at home.

We went ahead and purchased the annual membership, so we'll be heading back to the zoo often, good thing it was a hit with Gus!

Snow in Columbia and Valentine Bumbo

So it snowed in Columbia for the first time in years this weekend and I missed it. I left for Greenville on Thursday and the snowfall started on Friday afternoon. BJ actually made the trip to Greenville in the snow. Our neighbor was kind enough to send us the picture of our house above - so at least we'll have proof 20 years from now (because it probably won't happen again before then). Luckily Greenville got snow too, so we were able to take some picture of Gus in the snow.

When we got home on Sunday we tried out the Bumbo seat for the first time. I wasn't sure Gus was ready for it, but he kept his head up and seemed to really enjoy sitting in it.

He looks like such a little man sitting in it and it makes me realize how quickly he is growing up already. Everyone always says it goes by fast and boy it truly does.

We rounded a great weekend with a relaxing bath - Gus likes to drink the water on his face - too funny!

A day in the life...

We went to the doctor last Friday for Gus's first round of immunizations and a general well visit. Weighing in at 13 lbs 10 oz - Gus is now 11 weeks old and is a healthy happy little boy. He has started going to Mothers Morning Out and childcare at the gym, he is content to just look around and take it all in, not making much of fuss for anyone. So what do we do all day?

We play, laugh, and smile a lot

We take baths with Mommy

We bond with daddy and Ele...

We really couldn't ask for a better baby, he is a sweet and incredibly alert child. Thanks for making the transition to parenthood pretty easy on us little man - we love you!
